Curtains up!

Participating high schools are invited to submit both plays and musicals for adjudication during the school year.

Please refer to the following list to ensure the play and/or musical being submitted meets MVHSTA requirements.

The Performance Detail Form is below the information about what qualifies as a musical and what qualifies as a play.

Plays should fall into one or more of the following categories:

• A published play (either currently held by a licensing house or in the public domain) presented with the approval or permission from the original creators or their representatives.
• A new or unpublished play (featuring an original script) presented with the approval or permission from the original creators or their representatives.
• An original play featuring excerpts or scenes from a variety of sources (either currently held by a licensing house or in the public domain) presented with the approval or permission of the original creators or their representatives.
• Registration must be completed by the theatre director or official representative from the school. Students may not register productions on behalf of their school.
• The MVHSTAs cannot adjudicate new, and/or unpublished, and/or student-written work during the 2024-2025 Season. Please contact the MVHSTA Team if you are a director who would like feedback on a student-written work.
